REQUIREMENTS
POWER
The equipment I have requires a couple of wall outlets. I can’t plug everything into one power strip. Electricity fluctuates and it could ruin my main speakers and subwoofer if not connected properly. Before booking, please be sure the area am I to set up has the appropriate power requirements. I can’t sign an agreement without it.
INDOOR EVENTS ONLY
I live in Oregon and will happily travel a few hours from the Portland, OR area. Most people in this state know that it rains 9 months out of the year.
Water + electrical sound equipment = bad.
Additionally, barns, warehouses, sheds, and tents don’t provide much protection from the elements and the dust and dirt could damage my gear. For this reason, I can only DJ indoor events.
INFORMATION TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE
When I provide estimates on overall cost, they consist of multiple factors:
What type of event is it? Weddings, house parties, corporate events, charity galas, fundraisers, school formals, and New Year’s Eve celebrations are all very different and require different criteria from me. My playlists are carefully crafted and some may be 21+ and others may be more family friendly. Would I need to wear a suit and tie or a crazy costume? Would you prefer to hear specific music at a specific time or is it a free-for-all?
How long is your event? Is it 2 hours or 8+ hours? How many songs should I prepare? Will I need to stay until 3 am? If you book me from 8pm to 12am, but the party’s still going and you’d like me to stay an extra 1-2 hours, the cost will increase.
Where is your event? How many hours away is it from the Portland/metro area? Gas and mileage are included in my hourly rate.
Half up front
Putting down a deposit is a common and important part of many service agreements. It helps ensure that both you and the vendor are committed to the plans you’ve made together. For the vendor, it provides peace of mind and allows them to prepare for your event or project with confidence. For you, it secures their time and services for your big day or special occasion. Asking for half up front strikes a fair balance, showing mutual trust and accountability. Once the job is complete and you’re happy with the results, the remaining balance will be settled. It’s all about creating a smooth, worry-free experience for everyone involved!
